Ah, fashion. It is the true universal language, and on this night in NYC and across the world in over 500 cities in 19 countries, fashionistas get the chance to come face to face with the most influential designers, editors and elite in the business. Here is a list of well-heeled designers hosting events in NYC:
~ On the heels of designing the celebrated frock for First Lady Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC, Tracy Reese will be putting on her dancing shoes at her boutique at 640 Hudson St. for dance-a-thon, and awarding hourly prizes to the best dancers. Spend $400, and you'll be entered in a raffle to win a piece of your choice from the fall 2012 collection. I'm guessing many will want Michelle's dress!
~ Christian Louboutin will be featuring tarot card readings at his boutique at 808 Washington Street
~ Shop any Stuart Weitzman NYC location, where 20% of the evening's profits will benefit ovarian Cancer research
~ Cindi Lauper will be performing at Manolo Blahnik 31 W 54th St. to promote her new broadway show Kinky Boots
~ Piperlime celebrates their SoHo boutique’s grand opening at 121 Wooster St. with an appearance by super stylist Rachel Zoe, as Run DMC’s Rev Run and DJ Ruckus spin
