My Simple Elegance Glass Straw from GlassDharma
Once upon a time, in a fairytale we all know, Cinderella's life changed because of a glass slipper.
Fast forward to the 21st Century, where we modern-day Cinderellas - who prefer to buy our own shoes - can change numerous lives with every sip we take through a glass straw from GlassDharma.
Truly one of the best eco-conscious efforts I have ever seen, founder David Leonhardt has taken his skill set as a glassblower and turned it into an innovative business; a reusable and eco-friendly alternative to a product that is used by millions.
I, for one, was a plastic straw hoarder, thanks to my germaphobic tendencies. It stops me cold to think about how many plastic straws I personally have discarded. And being one who is conscious about recycling, it never dawned on me how many straws I was blindly throwing away. Yet from our childhood age to adulthood, we all use them.
So when GlassDharma shipped me samples of their straws for a blog review, I clicked my heels in glee! Glass straws?! How chic. And sustainable. To know that you are reducing the inundation of plastic straws in landfills - while creating instant conversation every time you pull out your personal glass straw - is genius!
I guess you can say straws are the new accessory. And to prove it, hemp soft sleeves are available for purchase to protect them in your purse.
Available in assorted styles, diameters and lengths, all of GlassDharma straws can be used in hot or cold beverages, and are non-toxic and crafted from durable glass tubing that meets the specs of Corning, Inc. For a truly great hostess gift, the glass straws are also sold in sets.
My fave is definitely the Beautiful Bend, mainly because of my preference to the bendable plastic straws. With a bent neck, its swan-like elegance is perfect. I am all for upgrading the simplest of beverage experiences (i.e. my Oreos are only dunked in milk-filled crystal goblets!), so from champagne to hot chocolate to ice-cold smoothies, I plan on making my Beautiful Bend glass straw "clink" with my crystal glassware!
Perfect for all genders, ages and lifestyles on your Christmas list, imagine if we all gave a "touch of glass" as stocking stuffers this holiday season. Whether you're buying for yourself or as gifts, GlassDharma offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee AND a Lifetime Guarantee Against Breakage. Which means that if the glass straws should ever break, they will replace them for FREE!
Now that brings all new meaning to the term happily ever after...
GlassDharma is giving one lucky TWHS reader a chance to win a $25.00 gift certificate. To be eligible to win, leave a comment telling how you would use your glass straws. A winner will be selected at random on Saturday, October 9.
ohh how we are soul sisters. this is really a dream for those of us that are germaphobs. They look so delicate and perfect. My great grandmother in Paris, used to drink her champagne out of a sterling silver straw, in a Chanel suit, everyday until her death at the age of 98. I would love to be able to carry on the tradition with a glass straw of my own! Steph
ReplyDeleteMmm. I would sip, delicately, and cross my eyes until I could see the tiny bubbles tickle up the straw until they bounced off my tongue! I will be having surgery soon that will require the use of straws. What a responsible alternative! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI would use my straws to drink concoctions of Koolaid & Mountain Dew...elegantly...yeah.

Glass straws are all I've needed to complete my drink experience! I would make my sister green with envy when she comes over for dinner and I'm sipping my cocktail through a beautiful glass straw! The fact that its good for the environment and reduces the spread of germs are like cherries on top.
ReplyDeleteI would use my glass straws with my iced coffee every morning - very elegant!

Oh my, these are awesome! I would love to use this while sipping on margaritas!
ReplyDeleteI would use these for my daily smoothies. I'm trying to act like an adult and get better about what I eat so I've incorporated a filling smoothie regimine into my dinnertime eats(who knew you could make banana nut bread smoothies usinge Grape nuts?). This would be a great way to end the need to buy and toss straws all of the time.
ReplyDeleteI would use these glass straws for drinking mate

These are lovely and if I was going to keep them for myself, I'd use them to sip iced tea. If I win, however, I'd give them as a wedding gift along with a set of lovely drinking glasses.
ReplyDeleteI would use these glass straws for drinking hot chocolate or tea. Whenever I try to drink hot liquids out of a cup or mug, I always manage to drink too much and scald myself. These would help a lot! If that doesn't work out, I'd use them for cocktails, because glass straws are classy.
